What a nice holiday !
08:35
A way-out for relaxation
Some weeks should last longer than others. What a relief ! After those two months spent working one so many subjects and dealing with a large number of administrative issues, came finally the opportunity to get out from Washington DC for a six-days vacation in Georgia. Even if the weather was not always as sunny as we would have expected - dear november ! - the heat was somewhere else : so many nice encounters.
This was my first day out of DC but also my fist Thanksgiving - in a both-irish-and-italian family - and my first ordination in the US - a deacon from the diocese of Savannah ordained last saturday - : a contact with the true life, in a region of the US known for it's cotton fields, it's sweets and for it's shrimps, the Old South.
What a switch ! There, people do smile when they cross you one the street, they do take time to exchange a few words, to know for example where you are coming from, and for most, waitress call you "Honey !" - nothing awkward for a seminarian since it is a simple mark of american south business affection -. May God bless everyone I have met !
A few pictures, my hosts, the O'keefes, Augusta their home-town, Alleluia !, their community,Savannah and it's gardens, the see, fudges,
